Thanks to baboo for these - lots of photos from when i played in Russia 2 weeks ago! Thank god i finally made it too... spent the best part of 3 days running around in London getting an emergency new passport, because my old one had no space left in it to put the Russian Visa in! Then the lady at the passport office reallly, i mean REALLY messed me around.
Anyway, I managed, and the gig was AmaZing! In a huge old Factory building - about 2000 people there, really hot and steamy, firedancers, all sorts goign on in there. THEN the police came and barked at me in Russian, to stop the music, which i had to, even though the orgainsers had permits...
I plugged my headphones into the microphone socket on the mixer and started saying all the rude words i knew in Russian, then some other guys took turns telling jokes - then we got another mic and i did beatboxxxing and the local MC was rapping on top.
A bit mad really, once the police went away I sneaked in another 15minutes of tunes, but had to dash off to get back to the hotel before they opened up the big bridges over the river...
